Makeup Review | BOOST BALM ~ Skin Barrier Cream Pegasus Blood Edition
In spite of having a healthy skin, do you agree if I say that having a smooth, flawless and long-lasting makeup which does not melt and crack easily is a crucial too for us as women? Commonnnnn just say YES to it because beauty is what we are running for right pretties! So, can you guess what I'm gonna review for todayyyy???
It is a Skin Barrier Cream - Pegasus Blood Edition from BoostBalm Cosmetics! Ohh but wait, have you ever heard about BoostBalm Cosmetics brand and use their products? Let me know if you have. It is a local brand product founded by Shareezma Hanif, formulated in United Kingdom and proudly manufactured in Malaysia. Awesomely, their product are all vegans and being recognized as halal by Jakim Malaysia!

It comes in an opaque black glass bottle with a pump. Yeahhh I know the shape of the bottleeeee, is unique and looks fun to hold right?! When first seeing this bottle, I was imagining that it is a magical bottle with beauty genie comes out from the mouth of its pump when I pump the cream out hahahahahaha!

The cream is white in colour and its texture is very thick but it is very superfine and soft, kind of velvety.

As claimed, Skin Barrier Cream is not a regular makeup primer, it is able to protect the skin from external harms and heal some skin problems. I was wonder how amazing this Skin Barrier Cream will be on my skin when I received the parcel from BoostBalm!

📍 How to use:
Apply the product equal to the size of a 5 cents coin on your face and spread it like you just don't care! Massage through upwards and leave to dry for 30 seconds before applying other products. This will allow all the good stuff to seep through and convert to a film of barrier, sealing your skin just after 30 seconds, protecting your skin and prepping your makeup base for longer use.
- Day time:
The skin barrier cream can be used as a primer before makeup, protecting your skin from chemicals in makeup products and environmental damage.
- Night time:
> Oily skin - Upon cleansing, apply the skin barrier cream directly onto the skin to treat the skin.

📌 Review of Boost Balm Skin Barrier Cream Pegasus Blood Edition
📍 Primes:
Honestly, I didn’t test this primer with makeup for 10 hours on my skin because it definitely will break my skin out. I have an oily acne prone skin and usually having makeup longer than usual, which is 5 to 6 hours for my skin, will definitely bring forth few of acne. So I will try my best to avoid from having makeup for more than 6 hours.
However, let me tell you here that I am already get impressed with its ability to make my makeup stay longer without making my skin more oily and greasy, more dehydrated up to 6 hours (the longest time that I can bear makeup on my skin). Actually, prior to that 6 hours, my makeup still does not melt and crack, it still looks very perfect, it is just me need to remove it for the sake of my skin health, I am afraid my pores will clog for having makeup too long. Therefore, for those who used to have all day make up, I have no doubt that you will love this primer very much.
Ohh ya, there is one thing that I should mention here, this primer surprisingly successful in avoiding my skin from being dehydrated as usual when I am in air-conditioned atmosphere. Usually after 3 to 4 hours having makeup on skin (in air-conditioned atmosphere), I can see and feel my skin become rough quickly. Tiny bumps start to appear on cheeks and consequently some parts of makeup will crack. But not with this primer, it somehow is very good in preventing quick hydration and moisture loss from my skin, that is why my makeup still looks perfect prior to 6 hours of application. But bear in mind that this is not a moisturizer, their box also explain about this! What I meant just now is after having both of my daily toner and moisturizer *also sunscreen!
About its texture, I think its texture is really differs from other makeup primers out there. While applying, I feel that its texture is very superfine although it's thick and it satisfies me in term of filling up and blurring out the pore to create smoother canvas for makeup. I have found that my skin become very smooth post application and so as the foundation when applied later.
📍 Protects:
I'm not so sure about this because I cannot feel any transparent film on my skin post application, or maybe it is created in intention to be like that so our skin will feel more comfortable. So, I decided to test with one of my skincare products. I have one "my skin rejected" sunscreen that can turn some parts of my skin into red after using it. So, I tried applying that sunscreen after applying this primer (I know the order is incorrect as a primer but I just want to test it out hahaha). Surprisingly, the redness was still there but quite lessen than usual and some parts did not get redness at all. So, I am sure it does really works!
Update → Guess what I am going to tell? I have found that this primer somehow works better when applying before sunscreen! This way making it can lock hydration and moisture better, so as the makeup, you should try it beauties! Andddddd also, the unplanned day had finally come where I had to bear makeup on my skin for 12 hours, a thing that I had never done for my skin before! Only God knew how worried I am if I was going to befriend with aggressive acne again 😅 but surprisingly no new acne popped up at all! How relief I was and I felt very thankful to this primer for saving my skin hehehe 12 hours are too long for my skin and I absolutely sure that this primer really protects the skin!
📍 Heals:
Honestly I haven’t see anything obvious about these claims. It really smoothen my skin but only post application of it, the smoothness is however gone after washing my skin. So as, the brightening and lightening claims. It may helps in shrinking out acne quicker but with the helps of other acne spot treatment too. I guess it should be used more frequently for that results but I know I can't, you will know after this haha. However, all of these does not turn me out from this primer because I just expect it to be a better makeup primer for my skin, I was not hoping for more than that. Its ability in keeping my makeup long lasting without dehydrating my skin is already beyond my expectation. So, why would I ask for more!

👎 With price of RM120.00 for 20ml, I think it is kinds of very high maintenance product for those who want to use it very frequently.
👎 Opaque packaging, its content can be observed if it is going to run out.
👎 Glass packaging, which is fragile and breakable when hitting hard objects.
