Skincare Review | ATOPALM REAL BARRIER ~ Intense Moisture Cream
Hello beauties! I am so glad to let you know that I have got a chance to try out one of my wish list skincare products from Real Barrier by Atopalm. It is Real Barrier Intense Moisture Cream, a 48 hours hydrating barrier cream! Yeah, basically it is a moisturizer. It was sent to me by 0.8L Malaysia in exchange for an honest review.
Before this, I had heard about Real Barrier by Atopalm for many times but I had never dig any information about this brand. I just ignored them as I thought it was just same with other brands out there, without any speciality. Until one fine day, I coincidentally read about Dr. Raymond Park in an article, I don’t really remember where is it. He is someone who has created Real Barrier formulation to heal his own child, who was suffering from persistent dermatitis at that time. That's why this brand is known as no.1 ranked brand born from a father's love! In that article, I was attracted to Dr. Raymoond Park words telling that:

MLE technology is a formulation designed involving combination of ceramides, fatty acids, cholestrols and other lipids to mimic healthy skin's natural epidermal lipid. On the other words, it can replace the lost natural epidermal lipids in unhealthy skin by tricking the skin into thinking that healthy epidermal lipid has been naturally restored. In turn, this can hydrate, protect and create a healthy skin barrier especially for chronically dry and extremely sensitive skin.
The lipids lost is physically replaced by MLE's plant-derived fatty acids, ceramides and cholestrols, which the body recognize as its own to seal the skin and protect it from further evaporation. This will make other ingredients like brightening and anti-aging agents are communicated into the skin more effectively as well, and stay put for continued action on the skin.

📍 3 types of Atopalm Real Barrier moisturizer:
- Extreme Cream - for very dry and sensitive skin.
- Intense Moisture Cream - for combination or dry skin.
- Aqua Relief Gel Cream - for oily but dehydrated skin.
As this Intense Moisture Cream is meant for combination or dry skin, so at first, I had no idea whether this moisturizer will be nice on my skin or will give my skin a disaster hahaha. But, my curiosity towards MLE didn't stop me from using it 🤭! I don't know, I somehow felt very confident with this product just because of its MLE! That's why I dared to try their intense moisture cream out!

It comes in a white plastic jar container with an inner cover and a spatula is provided altogether.📍 Capacity:
Its capacity per jar is 50ml.📍 Texture:
I'm seriously don't really know on how to describe its texture. Maybe I can say that it is more likely custard sauce texture that we eat with bread pudding 😂, the difference is only that this moisturizer's texture comes white in colour not yellow as custard sauce hahaha.📍 Scent:
Same goes to its scent! It is hard for me to describe 😁. Maybe it is kind of earthy-like scent? My brother said its scent is exactly as traditional massage oil made by our grandma hahaha. Maybe you can go and have a traditional massage from traditional massager or midwife before buying this moisturizer, so you can have an idea on how it smells 😂! But its scent is not so offensive, still bearable and may be unnoticed at all for some of you.📍 Application:
It spreads easily on my skin with fast absorption, leaving my skin softer and smoother. It is lightweight too, non-sticky and non-greasy post application. |

📍 Claim & Highlighted ingredient:
- Patented complex ceramide, myristoyl/palmitoyl oxostearamide/arachamide MEA that uses MLE technology in order to mimic healthy skin's natural lipid barrier, leaving the skin well hydrated for long.
- Hyaluronic acid to pull water molecules and hydrate the skin form deep within providing 48 hours moisture and hydrating skin barrier.
- Squalane, mistletoe fruit extract, phytosterols and vitamin E to deeply moisturize and help provide anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-septic benefits to the skin.
- Panthenol, allantoin and madecassoside to calm and soothe the skin.
- Lavender, orange and vetiver root oils come together for an uplifting and relaxing scent. *ahaaaa! massage=relaxing, scent=relaxing, so its scent=massage oil hahahahaha!

📍 How to use:
- Use AM or PM after cleansing with Cream Cleansing Foam or Cleansing Water. Apply Intro Serum and wait a few seconds for it to be absorbed. Then, using the enclosed applicator, scoop Intense Moisture Cream and apply to fingertips. Smooth over entire face and neck in an upward motion.
- To use as a moisture mask, apply a thick layer to the face, leave on for 15-20 minutes and relax.
📌 Review of Atopalm Real Barrier Intense Moisture Cream
This moisturizer is made for combination skin. Therefore at the first sight looking at its texture, I was afraid that it will be heavy on my skin but I was wrong as once applied, it sinks very well into my skin leaving very lightweight translucent layer on skin surface. So my confident in the earlier was not in vain haha! No single acne stopped by when introducing this moisturizer to my skin. It will only be heavy on skin when I use it as moisture mask as recommended. So, that way of use is a big cross for me! I just use it as a regular moisturizer.
There is one thing that I can’t really describe about its finishing, it kinds of giving my dewy finishing sunscreen a matte finishing. I don’t really know how it worked on this but I had tried that sunscreen with my other moisturizers for many many many times for this confirmation and yeah this moisturizer is really a something! I love this effect so much because it can lock my daily makeup better!
About its hydration supply, it alone actually didn’t give a satisfied hydration to my skin but with enough use of hydration toner or AHA at first, it can actually moisturize my skin up to 12 hours. It is the longest that I can try, testing for 48 hours is impossible and I think nobody is going to put moisturizer for 48 hours in once application. Let me know if you are 😄!

I am not so sure about how far its ability to calm and soothe irritated skin, but I'd love to say that it has never given a stinging sensation when applied on acne wound. It also has improved my uneven skin texture to be smoother and softer much! Maybe this is an effect from that MLE technology? I think matte finishing sunscreen effect is largely affected by this too 🤔. Ahh no matter what brings it, most important is using this moisturizer have made me feel that I'm having the healthiest skin ever! Soon after, I should try Aqua Relief Gel Cream, the most suit one for my oily dehydrated skin 🤩.

👍 Improved uneven skin texture to be smoother and softer.
📌 Cons:
👎 Sold at almost RM 120 per jar for 2 months of use, I think it is quite pricey.👎 Thick layer application as moisture mask/sleeping mask can be heavy on skin.
👎 Unsatisfied hydration.
👎 Some of you may not like its "traditional massage oil" scent hahaha!
